This Privacy Policy explains how Kinokey ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you visit kinokey.com and join the Kinokey waitlist.

Kinokey is operated by Halim Stri, an individual based in Morocco. You can contact us at hello@kinokey.com.

1. What we collect

When you sign up to the Kinokey waitlist, we collect:

• Your email address, which you provide voluntarily through the signup form.
• Technical data automatically collected when you visit the site: IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, pages viewed, and approximate location (country level).

We do not collect names, payment information, or any other personal data at this stage.

2. Why we collect it

We use your email address to:

• Add you to the Kinokey waitlist.
• Send you launch updates, early access invitations, and occasional product news related to Kinokey.

We use technical data to:

• Understand how visitors interact with the site (analytics).
• Measure the performance of our advertising campaigns.
• Improve the website and the upcoming product.

3. Legal basis for processing (EU and UK users)

If you are located in the European Union or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data on the following legal bases under the GDPR and UK GDPR:

• Your consent, when you submit your email through the signup form, and when you accept analytics or advertising cookies through the cookie banner.
• Our legitimate interest, for essential server logs strictly necessary to operate and secure the website.

4. Tools and third parties we use

To run the waitlist and analyze traffic, we use the following services. Each of them processes some of your data:

• MailerLite (email service provider, based in Lithuania, EU). Stores your email address. MailerLite Privacy Policy.
• Netlify (website hosting, based in the United States). Processes server logs including IP addresses. Netlify Privacy Policy.
• Google Analytics 4 (anonymous traffic analytics, Google LLC, United States). Uses cookies only if you accept them. Google Privacy Policy.
• Meta Pixel (advertising performance measurement, Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd and Meta Platforms Inc., United States). Uses cookies only if you accept them. Meta Privacy Policy.

Some of these services transfer data outside the European Economic Area, including to the United States. These transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses adopted by the European Commission.

5. Cookies

We use cookies only after you give consent through the cookie banner displayed on your first visit. There are two categories:

• Essential cookies: required for the site to function. These are always active.
• Analytics and advertising cookies (Google Analytics, Meta Pixel): only loaded if you click "Accept" on the cookie banner.

You can change your choice at any time by clearing your browser cookies for kinokey.com.

6. How long we keep your data

We keep your email address until:

• You unsubscribe (every email we send includes an unsubscribe link), or
• You ask us to delete your data by emailing hello@kinokey.com, or
• Kinokey is discontinued, in which case we delete all waitlist data.

Anonymous analytics data is kept for up to 14 months.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: ask us what data we hold about you.
• Correction: ask us to fix incorrect data.
• Deletion: ask us to delete your data.
• Portability: ask us to send you your data in a readable format.
• Objection: object to certain types of processing.
• Withdraw consent: withdraw your consent at any time.

8. Rights of California residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect about you, to request deletion of that information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We do not sell your personal information.

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption on the website and secure storage with our service providers. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe.

10. Children

Kinokey is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a child has submitted personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be communicated to subscribers by email.
